Surface Preparation
Surface to be paint must be clean and free of dirt, dust, grease and flaking paint. Remove loose material by scraping and sanding. Dull glossy areas by sanding. Apply two coats of CS 307 CHALKBOARD Paint Water Based after priming as outlined below.
New Wood: Spot prime all caulked nailholes and patches with CS 023 THE PERFECT PRIMER, All-purpose eco primer. Allow to dry, then apply a full coat of Primer. Sand to a smooth surface.
New Plaster, Gypsum Board: Prime with a full coat of CS 192-00 WALL PLUS Waterborne Micronized, Stabilizing Eco primer.
Ferrous Metal: Remove rust and loose material before priming exposed metal wit CS 568 THE PERFECT PRIMER Alkyd Rust Primer.
Previously Painted Surfaces: Prime with CS 023 THE PERFECT PRIMER, All-purpose eco primer
For Application By
Stir thoroughly before use. Apply one or two coats. For best results, use nylon/polyester brush, roller or spray. Thin 5% with clean water. When brushing or rolling, apply generously using short overlapping strokes, always moving from unpainted into painted areas. Do not over apply. Let paint dry before touching up. Do not apply in temperatures below 10OC.
CAUTION: Because of the additives used in some varieties of colored chalk, which can leave colored “marking” when erased, we recommend using lighter colored chalk designed for use on chalkboard.
Clean Up
Clean brushes and equipment in warm, soapy water immediately after use
